You should look at DIYaudio.com  lots of builders there who can help you.

Madisound, Parts Express and Meniscus are definitely good places to look for complete kits at a variety of price points.

You might also look at the designs from Troels Gravesen, he is definitely a designer who I agree with more often than not. :)

Parts Express and Madisound are wonderful places to buy from but the selection is...robust with hundreds of drivers to choose from.

Call up the guys at Madisound and discuss the project with them and get their POV.  Assuming this is a wood cabinet, you will be better with a very high mass, heavy tweeter than low mass.  SEAS and Scanspeak would be good options.

Once you select your crossover and you get a volume set for your cabinet you may want some assistance in crossover design.  I would reach out to Tony Gee at http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/

You send him the cabinet details and the Thiel Small Parameters for the drivers and he will design a crossover for you.
+1 on what verdantaudio said! Tony is great. I modeled mine after the JBL 4333/L300. Easy to find info and crossover help.

Start with an existing platform with lots of info. I'm good with wood and electronics, but never built home hifi, it's a new experience, great learning curve. Enjoy it!
Madisound all the way. Built mine from their parts 30 years ago. But look at the kits from Parts X for simple.
