Wood for a rack

I have a solid mahogany door I was thinking about turning it into a rack. Any thoughts on that wood and Hi-Fi?

What are you going to use for legs?  The Home Depot here has 1x4 and 1x6 Mahogany lumber, which is a thought.
Careful about that door really being solid mahogany. I had some 1930’s doors that I thought were solid Cuban mahogany due to their weight and age, however, once I cut into it, they turned out to be pine covered by a very thick mahogany veneer. Here’s hoping you find it to actually be solid.
I used maple with a live edge. I bought a length 8' and two feet wide, cut them down to four foot. sanded them down, stained and poly'd. Used 2" galvanized threaded pipe and flanges to make my legs then the legs between the two shelves. Used heavy rubber washers between each flange and the wood surface. Came out nice.
