HDCD

Here's a (probably) dumb question. Does anyone make a player that plays SACD AND decodes HDCD?
I guess HDCD failed in the marletplace. Too bad. The few I have actually sound better...even when played on an old Sony boy ray player...than many of my SACDs played on my good player. I do have an older NAD cd player that decodes HDCD in a second system but I don't can't move it into the main system every time i want to hear n HDCD. Having 1 player to do both would be ideal.

^I believe all but the last generation of Oppo’s were capable of HDCD decoding. HDCD’s will play on standard CD players, but without the benefit of the HDCD decoding.
I’m a fan of HDCD. Some of my best sounding discs are RR HDCD’s.
JRiver will handle both.  Just rip the discs to files..................
Yes...RR will playing anything. As I said, even on standard players, RR stuff is great. But when decoded...wow...
Yep, Oppo 105 does it.  I can also stream it via an HDMI cable from my Oppo 105 through a D.BOB to my Holo Audio DAC.  And yes, Reference Recordings are some of the best in redbook and even better in HDCD.
Thats the ticket Achipo....The Oppo 105 as a transport and then the D.BOB Box to the Best Dac you have. (Esoteric for me)
