Yep. First in depth review I saw compared it to the Bluesound (which I was considering) combo streamer/DAC. The iFi was said to be substantially better than the Blusesound in sound quality, soundstage, imaging, depth, etc. Even when the Bluesound was hooked up to the same DAC for comparison.


Kinda sealed the deal for me.

Given that I spin vinyl 90%+ of the time, works for me.

Hey Brian, I'm soaking it all in for my possible foray into streaming. My music friend has a little Shiit tube DAC and really great sounding Audio Engine speakers at his computer desk.

Last night...

Fleetwood Mac  "Kiln House"  reissue, and sounds very good.

Pink Floyd  "Momentary Lapse Of Reason"  Remix & update, 45 rpm double disc set.

Muddy Waters  "Folk Singer" Analog Productions, 45 rpm 2-disc set.  Just amazing how well mic'd that session was.  I got this a few weeks ago and this was just my second time to listen to it.  I'm floored by the SQ and the music as well.

Now, for the Pink Floyd remix.  Some folks only want the original and are not interested in a remix.  I can understand that.  But with this remix it was done by the artists themselves so hey, it's their music and if that is how they want to bring it to market I am fine with that.  I only had the album on CD since it first was released and wanted a vinyl copy.  I can say there are a few differences in the remix but certainly nothing that would make me feel it's a very different album.  Rather, I can easily say the differences are well done enhancements to the album.  And it gets significantly better from there.  Regarding the media, I am fortunate that all 4 sides are exceptionally quiet vinyl and very flat.  Yeah!  And as for the overall SQ it is absolutely fabulous.  Visceral bass, impeccable staging and imaging, depth of music is just off the charts.  It's one of those albums that you can turn up the volume and go "WOW" and then turn it up some more and go "Holy Crap!" and then turn it up again and, well, you get the idea.  And the packaging along with the large booklet are all of superb materials.  Highly recommend this album, it's a real treat.
