Just learned Pat Martino passed on the 1st of this month. Another giant gone.

My favorite recordings by him include "Footprints", "Exit" and "Consciousness".

He always seems to get passed over when many people talk about great fusion guitarists. Holdsworth, McLaughlin, Di Meola, Gambale, Metheny, Henderson, Coryell, all of abut the same generation of players, seem to get more talk than than Martino. But he was as good as most of them.
