Ray Brown & Laurindo Almeida – Moonlight Serenade (Jeton Audiophile Legends Germany 2003) The intertwined 'Round About Midnight + Moonlight Sonata is one of the most brilliant mashups/arrangements I've ever heard. 9.5/10 SQ too. If you find it, buy it!

@sbank Spencer, I'm not Bill, but you have to get Heartbeat City.  It's a sonic masterpiece and a great collection of catchy pop songs.  I think it's their masterpiece, but the debut album was pretty amazing also.

A tip... when I find myself wanting to explore a new artist, or expand what I've heard from someone I like, I will visit allmusic.com and look at the artist's discography.  Most albums have reviews and also user reviews and ratings.  I don't always agree with them, but for the most part it's a good guide.  I hate their website, especially on mobile, but there's great content.

This Cars fan would rank them (on LP) The Cars, Candy-O, Shake It Up, Heartbeat City, Door To Door, Panorama. On CD I’ve got a couple Hits disks and Move Like This—if I had MLT on vinyl it’d be in the top 3.

@nicks25 mentioned Elliot Easton’s guitar work, Greg Hawkes’ keyboards are especially good on Shake It Up. Great band, sorry we’re down a couple of members. RIP Rick, Benjamin.
