My guess is that when the photographers and stagers come in to do an architectural shoot, they remove things like pieces of gear and associated cables etc.
AD used to commonly feature B&O equipment & speakers in their rooms because B&O were contemporary & considered works of art--my wife designed for Roche Bobois and they featured B&O stuff with their Italian furniture but always without cabling or even power cords. For whatever reason (i haven't heard a B&O system since the early 80"s) they aren't mentioned much any more.
