Power Conditioner question

@carlsbad I don't understand how a 14 ga cable could have been insufficient.  My own system draws less than 2 amps when playing.  Even big bass runs only bump that by 0.5 amps.  I was also taught that watts divided by volts = amp draw.  So 15 amps x 120 volt = 1800 watts total ?  I may be wrong on that math but either way, the 14 ga cable should have done the job easily?  Not tying to throw shade, just trying to understand.  Cheers.

@bigtwin yes, it isn't a first order effect.  I am a physicist.  I know the math.  I thought a 14 ga cable would be sufficient for such a small amp.  It took me 2 days to figure it out, just thinking the amp wasn't big enough.  If you're in Socal, come to my house and we'll do a blind A/B test.  I'll admit, I thought 10 ga power calble was overkill until this experience.

I think that it is very short but intense spikes needed for the amp to handle all that is asked of it.  The average current is not the problem.

I just sort of threw out a similar post a while back. I too use Transparent cables. My IC's and speaker cables are all Transparent. However I have found that I think certain cable manufacturers do certain things better. For example I think Transparent makes amazing IC's and speaker cables but I'm not a huge fan of their power cables. When it comes to power cables I use Shunyata. And for power conditioning this was an easy one for me, Furman as that's what they do...My personal belief is that IC's and speaker cables should be the same manufacturer but after that when it comes to power cables and conditioning mix and match at will. No science at all behind this it is all just my opinion/experience...
