Do you find the majority of the Deutsche Grammophon pressings to be of good sound quality? I have just a few that sound very good and am looking at picking up a few others that I'm interested in. Thanks.

David Gray - "Mutineers"

It's funny. I'm a fan of David Gray and I loved his breakout album - "White Ladder". Matter-o-fact, I used to consider it one of my desert island albums. When "Mutineers" was released, and a tour scheduled, a digital copy of "Mutineers" was provided to all ticket purchasers. Being a big fan, of course I purchased tickets and downloaded the free digital album. When I first heard it, I wasn't so sure about it. But, I gave it another listen, or two, and it started growing on me. Went to the show and was really happy to hear the show open with the complete new album, end to end. It was fantastic! Mesmerizing even!

Fast forward several years, and I finally got a copy of the album on vinyl. And all I can say is that it is fantastic! For me, easily surpasses "White Ladder" and as an additional benefit, the sound quality is much better than the version of "White Ladder" I have on vinyl.

Anyway, for any David Gray fan, it's a "must have".  For anyone else who likes haunting, airy vocals, interesting lyrics, and something just a little different, check it out. Highly recommended... by me.

The Music Group Of London
Vaughan Williams - String Quartet No 1 In G Minor & String Quartet No 2 In A Minor
His Masters Voice 1973 UK release

Brewer and Shipley - "Tarkio"

I bought this mint/sealed at Plaid Room Records about 3 years ago for $5.99! I mean, even if I didn't like it so much, hard to go wrong for $6, especially considering it contained their big hit - "One Toke Over the Line". Much to my surprise, it's a pretty darn good album. I got a bargain!

RE: Deutsche Grammophon - One word, inconsistent. Most/many can be very good, some, not so much. Doesn’t mean they are not all ‘good’, they are, but some are stellar, and some not so much.

In contrast, in relation to another larger EU label, Philips, as example, in the classical recording realm, IMO is constantly very good to excellent. Same with DECCA/London.
