Cary SLP-05 Trim Pots

I’m new I need help. I have a (new to me) 10 year old Cary SLP-05. There are two (2) trim pot inside the chassis that has the tubes (not the rectifier tube). Are they to BIAS the tubes? It came with tubes but they are not labeled where they go. They are all Sylvania 6SN7-GTB.

I can match the tubes that’s not the issue. I just want to make sure they are BIASed correctly, matched and place to optimize their performance.

I’m new to Cary.

I sure could use some help.

Thanks

To be honest, I don't really know but I run an SLP-98. Most tube preamps do not need a bias adjustment, unlike a lot of amps with power tubes. Let me look for a manual. Yup, the manual is online at Cary.

Thanks I looked in the manual too. I didn't see anything. It has two trim pot inside the top or where the 8 6SN7 are located. The 2 pots seem to adjust the 4 in a cluster. The other 2 on the same IC board look like they are for the XLR (balanced) side, but no trim pots.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what they are for? Cary won't give up a schematic on a current production amp. They don't look to complicated.  From what I can see this is stock. There are NO modifications. No fancy caps or added capacitance to the power supply. Stock I think.

I know the pots reduce what ever is going on by turning them CCW with the units OFF and unplugged. They are trim pot according to a DMM.

Without a service manual, you are working blind. You can call Cary and ask but don't expect an answer you can use.
