Are some streaming players more reliable than others?

Could be the streamer, could be your network.  I have two identical streamers, one connected to my router by CAT 8 a few feet from my modem.  No dropouts.  Ever.  The other is on the other side of the house connected to an Orbi mesh unit by Cat 8.  Even though I get almost the same download/upload speeds from that Orbi unit, once in a while it drops out while streaming Radio Paradise.  It doesn't drop out while streaming music from my network.

I've never had issues streaming from Qobuz or other sources. I started with a Raspberry Pi, then "upgraded" (or so I thought at the time) to an Aurender, then dumped that for a Bryston BDP-3. They all worked well using wired connection.

Have you checked your internet speed? I’m not familiar with MConnect or if that might be causing a problem somehow (settings, etc.).  I doubt it’s the streamer.

Made the switch to fiber, big improvement.

My personal opinion:  It seems to me that this is a wonderful idea that was foistered on us before the bugs were worked out of the technology. 

This is my thoughts exactly  Even with an all in one streamer/dac its a PITA. Too many handshakes between too many devices with no or different standards/protocols. But its a great idea in theory. And they sell like hotcakes. so the vendors & mfgs make $$$. but my experience has been awful. And I've been computing since 1991 and seting up gear since the early 60's. but I can't get this thing going dependably

I have a streamer / Dac that by all measures should be fabulous. . And it sounds great when I can get it to work. It has been total frustration to the point that I have given up and maybe will try one more solution. but i'm lmost ready to forget it and spin vinyl and cds til one of us gives out.Its a toss up between the CDP and me at this point
