Bluesound and BluOS

I have Tidal and Qobuz with both premium subscription”s. Tidal has no problem with any hi res songs and yet Qobuz will skip or pause with hi res music. We have worked with both Bluesound and Qobuz and no solutions have be offered. Any ideas please.

I have been using Tidal on Bluesound devices. I tried Qobuz and found that I like the sound better on Tidal. Some are no fans of MQA files but I have found about 80% of the MQA version of albums I have listened to sound fantastic. I have moved my entire ITUNES library over the the hard drive on a Bluesound Vault. The only thing I can say that is a negative about Bluesound is that I found it very unstable and would not connect when I ran the Bluesound Node or Vault wireless. Now that they are connected wired by LAN/Cat5 it works perfect. Maybe Bluesound has improved the wireless connectivity aspect of the devices with the i versions. Also of note, IT help with Bluesound is truly top notch. I have called them on three occasions over the years and they are awesome. Adding metadata for album art can be tricky, but I have done it now and it works.

Looking forward to trying the Radio Paradise app on the BluOS. RP is playing MQA files as well.

I use Qobuz, it is the better streaming service. I have never experienced what you are experiencing. However I do not have a BlueSound. Sounds like it is most likely a programming problem with the BlueSound. I would guess it will get fixed with one of the next software releases.

I would keep checking with BlueSound for updates… one day it will disappear.

Alternatvely, Is your blusound plugged in via Ethernet? If not, then get a Wall Wart wifi extender (I recommend the same brand as your router, usually ~$59) … locate it in an outlet close to your audio equipment and plug the BlueSound into that. I have found internal wifi on streamers can be very iffy.
