When people upgrade from Thiel

A question to the group;

When audiophiles upgrade from Thiel speakers
What speaker do most of you upgrade to?

I'm wondering if there is an obvious next step?

As I've detailed in other threads, I've had to look for alternatives to my Thiel 3.7 speakers.   It was very problematic.  Almost nothing sounded as good, and I could not find anything I truly found an "upgrade" in many areas (one or two maybe, but not the whole package).

I did sell them and have the slightly smaller Thiel 2.7s which sound very similar.  I've kept my ears out for a speaker I might add to my stable of speakers - for me Devores 0 speakers and Joseph speakers do some things I like a bit better than the Thiels, but the Thiels are such a cohesive over all package of great tone, imaging, palpability and dynamics they are hard to replace (hence...I don't plan to replace them, but only possibly add another pair of speakers).
I just on a whim listened to a pair of Audio Physic Avanti 3 and my Thiel CS2.4's are now moved into storage. The AP gives me everything that made the Thiel's amazing, but is quite a bit smoother (without losing details) and they can simply "disappear". Super musical and just sheer amazing.

I agree very difficult to upgrade from Thiel speakers.

I sold my first pair of 3.7s in 2020 but my wife and i missed them so much that we decided buy another pair in early 2021.

My plan is to upgrade pre-power and DAC in the futur but not the Thiels.

I'm actually going to renovate my Thiels to be able to keep them fofever lol

i suppose it depends greatly on what a thiel owner is seeking in his upgrade

if you like the sound and have a smaller model, then moving up the range may well make sense, room allowing

I had Thiel CS3.6's and then CS5i's and could never get a good soundstage and dynamics.

Currently running Klipsch Forte iv's and Zu Audio Soul Sixes, both of which sound more live and dynamic to me.

It is nice to not have to deal with heavy, high current, and high power amps. Currently using a First Watt F7 or CJ LP66s, depending on my mood.
