Bi amp configuration...a mismatch?

The only issue is if the gain is not identical in each ampllifier, this can make you consider a passive volume control on the louder one.

Are you passively bi-amping or actively bi-amping?

It would be passive bi amp. 

I would not do it, as they have historically not been a difficult speaker to drive.
Is there something about the sound that is not appealing?

You’d be better IMO to get a Vandy sub and the crossover between the pre and amp. that is not usually noted as being subtle… Most did that it is usually easy to hear an improvement.

holmz, thanks for your response. I really enjoying the sound of the Vandersteen but thought I would take it to another level if I went to a bi amp configuration.
