Network Switches

Switches have their own sound signature that probably takes the listener time to adjust to.

The big advantage of adding an etherstream2 for me was the reduction in harshness. I have compared it to other much more expensive switches and I think most of these high end switches are way overpriced.

Grimm and other designers have been able to get their switching power supply to perform well, but that's a custom design for their streamer.

I ground my cable modem/router one box with an entreq box with a RJ45 grounding cable.

I would never go back to streaming without it.

You can easily pull out the grounding cable after you've gotten used to the sound, to hear the difference.

Would you please elaborate on your experience with other switches? I would love to hear what switches you’ve tried in your system. Agreed on passive grounding, I’m also using dedicated ground boxes for ethernet router and switch.
