Too many Snowflakes getting their little feelings hurt, so their first reaction is to CANCEL, CENSOR, DELETE! Quick, run away make the bad man go away. 

Rubbish posts need deletion, especially rude and offensive ones.

But why delete the whole thread?

Suggests the moderators are too lazy to read each post.

It's just as easy to be helpful or skip a topic if one feels compelled to be nasty or have fun stroking one's own ego by saying something against forum etiquette and rules. The problems rests with good judgment and not choosing to be a complete donkey arse. IMHO

I don't know where MC went. He could sure ruffle some feathers....
