Speaker placement.

10' x 13' room, which would you opt for, speaker width

Or speaker depth? And why? (Standard height)

If u wanna do nearfield listening feel free to put them on the long wall and do the equilateral triangle thing if that’s what floats your boat.  But that’s very different from positioning the speakers on the short wall, letting them breathe, and let the room reflections enhance the spaciousness of the performance.  Two totally different and valid approaches.  Just depends on your personal tastes.  Personally, I much prefer the latter, but that’s me.  The good news is, all this placement stuff is free!  So experiment to your heart’s content.  Best of luck.

Soix and newbee have it right...small room is same as mine...3ft from tweeter to rear/front? wall will provide sound stage...24" stand is standard sitting position, found just over shoulder works best eliminating enough of 1st reflections, just under 6 ft apart is were i ended up.No damping material does make the most of small room and provides some ambience as soix stated.I went from 12 by 22 foot room old house to this small room.I bemoaned it at first...but it has become the best sounding room i have ever had.Small /controllable/hear everything. If you have spikes on stands/no loose ones...ground them/to floor.

I've tried it both ways in my 12x14 room and prefer the speakers on the short wall (see my virtual system).
