Best Connection Method for a Sub(s)

Quick question: For two channel audio what is the best way to hook up a subwoofer(s)? Using line level outputs (such as from a DAC or other line level source) or connect the subwoofer to the high level amp outputs and use the high level inputs on the sub? I would be using the EQ in the sub. I think I know but want advice from those with more experience then me. Thank you.

Having owned both JL and REL subs, for 2 channel audio; high level connection is my preferred way to go. I would never consider another sub that does not offer high level connectivity.

+1 laltik!  REL subs with High Level inputs.  These seem to blend and disappear so much better than the line level inputs.   I have tried both ways.  I have also had and sold Paradigm subs.  I have two pairs of RELs now.  And yes, use the EQ, volume and phase adjustment on the subs.  I run the pair in my basement with REL's Longbow wireless system.  It hooks up High Level to the Longbow with short cables, then you can place the sub(s) anywhere you like.  this made the biggest difference in my often boomy basement to locate them where the boom went away!

+2.  High level inputs.  Low pass frequency level at the lowest setting.  Gain set just barely loud enough to hear it on the heaviest bass passages.

Thanks everyone.  That was not the answer I was expecting.  It helped with a sub decision though.
