Larry Coryell / Miroslav Vitous Quartet

System build winding down finally and I’m back to enjoying music…after all that’s what it’s ultimately all about!
Letting Roon pick some good stuff for me with the Roon Radio feature, I recently discovered a very cool recording by Larry Coryell and Miroslav Vitous. Has some familiar classics as well as some new to me music. Highly recommend it. Recording quality is great as well…check it out and recommend your favorite guitar and bass duos!

You’re welcome. That’s an easy recommendation because it’s so damned good! It’s out of print but you should be able to find a copy if you’re patient.

I’ve never heard/heard of Joel Xavier -- will check it out.

I saw K. Jarrett in late 70’s and it seemed he could do anything -- the crowd worshipped him as if he was a god. When he began grunting and plucking the piano strings, I walked out. Not to say there wasn’t plenty of great music back then (there was) but it was also a very self-indulgent era.

I just remembered another: the two J. Hall/R. Carter duo recordings available as a 2 CD set titled "Telepathy" :

I’ve had this CD for quite some years. Very good 2 musician interaction. Straight ahead jazz genre.

Also agree with the Ron Carter/Jim Hall duos, very good.
