Why Do You Listen? A Poll Question

If I see something online I disapprove of but others seem to enjoy.....I just go somewhere else. I don’t try to COP people in the pursuit of controlling what they talk about, but different strokes I guess.

plenty of pointless threads on this forum, but for this one, i am just calling out the plain-as-day idiocy of the question posed -- as it entirely misses the point of why dedicated people pursue high end hifi passionately -- to hear beautiful music, faithfully reproduced... it isn’t an either/or

Exactly how I feel. Good music based on what I like MUST sound great, otherwise I don't listen to it. Can't do it.

Thins even goes back to original thread, "is there some things certain people hear that others can't that makes them audiophile?"

Right now I'm listening to GoGo Pengin " A Humdrum Star".

I mainly listen to acoustic bass trio's and solos, Peo Alfonsi, Enzo Pietropaoli, Japanese Koto  "Keiko", but also Opera , Jose Cano "Luna", but also Dead Can Dance Live and Mahler and Wagner, even some Shelac.

My tastes are varied, BUT IT MUST SOUND SPECTACULAR. Thats why I've spent 30 years trying and I think succeeded in building a simple inexpensive GREAT sounding system.

Some music is so good it will outweigh poor sound. Some music is so bad, no sound quality can help it.
