I’m a firm believer there’s never enough inputs on preamps and integrateds. I also believe in keeping digital out of said devices. Unless they are plug ins that can be upgraded. And even then I think it best to keep them separate. A good preamp or integrated may last many years and never need upgrading. You can't say that about digital.
I saw the back of an integrated and it depressed me.
Recently took a look at an ad for a Technics SU-G700M2 integrated amplifier, and honestly it made me a little sad for me, my hobby and the gear I ended up with.
When I "wore a younger man's shoes" I needed inputs! I was going to have a turntable, a Tandberg reel to reel and cassette player, and that new fangled CD player would be there as well.
This new integrated has 5 digital inputs and 2 analog inputs... and anyway I just want to drink while playing Billy Joel radio on my Roon streamer.

....BLUBYU ? I know....just isn't the same....:( Personally, I've always wanted one of those LED 'crawl' readers, the long thin ones... Better, the display element would apply like a bumper sticker without the hardware....👍 ..run a microputer running vox recognition, 'one shot' displays.... TOO CLOSE? RUN THE RISK MY FART CRAZING YER WINDSHIELD ;)) NCHP would tag me in a heartbeat....Sheriff's would want one....likely mine....😒 |
I like how you’re thinking. I just can’t decide if this is an opporunity for personal growth, or I should immediately change meds. Tough call. My "for real" dally driver plate reads: "LUV HZ".
