The majority of Lumin products are streamers with internal dacs, so there is no need for an I2S connection. The best connection is no connection.

Another Lumin U1 with X1 power supply owner here. A great sounding combination. Never had any problems. Connected to a Aqua Acoustics LaScala DAC, Backert Labs Rhythm 1.4 preamp, McIntosh MC462 amp and Focal Sopra 2 speakers.
