NEW FTC Amplifier Law

it seems to be a good thing keeping all the manufacturers marketing sections in check from scamming us.

There are enough people out there that have no idea what numbers they are looking at, and at what reference those numbers are held. Just hang out in a low-end audio form or used sales form and see how many people tout their speakers watts. 

I wonder how this will affect class D amplifier ratings.  This is not a dig at Hypex (I have an N-Core amp in my office system), but I suspect that note 2 below applies to all their designs, and likely most or all class D amps.  The good news is that they have more headroom than most conventional amplifiers.  The bad news is that, if you need more than 100 watts continuous, a 500 watt class D amp currently won't give you that.
