Magico A3 or A1+Sub

Considering purchasing either Magico A3 floorstander or A1 bookshelf + Rel sub (Magico asub gets set up with computer and seems overly complex).  A key advantage is these are fully sealed and fairly shallow (10-12 inches) and speakers will need to live about 12 inches max from wall.  I have no experience with subs and could only fit one sub if go that way.

Would appreciate any guidance on what would produce best sound quality?

Thanks,

A3, especially if you can only get one sub.  I haven’t heard the A3 in a while but I’m pretty sure it goes down to something like 22hz.  The A3 will likely sound more coherent as well being a single cabinet rather than stand mounts and integrated sub.

Hard to weigh in on a recommendation without knowing much about the listening room and what's driving the speakers.  I'm sure you would get better responses if there was a better picture of the room and what your listening goals are.

+1 @rick_n

The room and amps matter quite a bit with speakers that have this level of potential.

@rick_n   Fair point.  I've added a picture to my virtual system, the view is looking from dining room towards living room.  Speakers are roughly 9 feet apart, 1 foot from wall and listening positioning is about 7 feet back.

Goal is overall more detail and retain bass (forests are good at bass).  Listen to alternative, EDM and run the TV through speakers.  Would like to get a quality piece that would last for many years.  Demo'd A3, A1 and Borresen X1 (standmount could go on console and sub to left of console in corner).  Would really like to create some soundstage depth but recognize that is difficult with speakers only 12 inches from wall but such is needed for domestic tranquility.
