Use of Denafrips Iris 12th DDC with computer

When streaming from a computer I am wondering about improvements one might  get from use of this DDC between computer and DAC.  Anyone with experience using this unit this way? Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all who have responded. Just to let everyone know, I did purchase the Iris DDC a couple weeks ago. It has made an improvement in the sonics I am getting from my living room system. Well worth the price paid (~$500) within the context of the system.

I am running from my apple laptop USB to the Iris, then coax to the DAC input of my Music fidelity M3 SCD player which I consider a DAC/transport.  It also serves my TV when watching movies via optical to DAC though I haven't run that through the Iris yet. Will give that a try soon.

I live in the country an receive Internet service via Wi-Fi. I am to be supplied with service via fiber optic in the near future. That will change my position on the use of streaming as a source. Will likely purchase a dedicated streamer at that time.

Thanks for the follow up and glad the Iris made an improvement.  The great thing is when you eventually get a streamer the Iris will still be a valuable asset that will continue to pay dividends.  Nice purchase.

@soix My thoughts as well regarding future streamer purchase. Much would depend on the clock and output availability for that unit.

I'm not sure why would you add DDC instead of going for Denafrips streamer with all of the features for several hundreds more. You get all the benefits of DDC and you get streaming capability and eliminate noisy PC from lineup.

I use with Windows PC and it is a bit annoying. Occasionally, when PC sleeps, it loses connection to Iris when it wakes up. I have to disconnect and reconnect USB cable. Sound wise I can hear minor improvement over plain connection to Terminator. I suspect this is less to do with reclock and more with isolation of Terminator from USB noise.
