Fiber is Coming to my neighborhood

I just talked to a At&t Technician in our neighborhood and he said they are bringing fiber very soon.  I hope this improves my internet I have cox cable out several times a year working on my internet from cox.  The internet seems to very on my computer when surfing the internet but streaming TV doesn't seem to be affected much.  I am building a system so I don't have my DAC or streamer.  I do have my amp and getting a preamp as we speak.  Would Fiber have any effect on the type of streamer or DAC I look at?  I do assume that fiber will be better than cable.  What should I look for to improve signal as far as jitter?

@soix  It has the full gravity base.  It doesn't have the external power supply but the Preamp will.  The preamp is being built from the ground up.  There is a two or three page review online just google TLC2 GT24 and it comes right up.  It shows some cool pictures of the internals.  It is definitely a very clean looking build like the rest of the equipment they build.

Sweet!  I bet it’ll sound awesome and I’ll definitely check the review.  I decided to go with a tube pre for the first time and digging it — a LTA MZ2 w/ upgraded LPS.  Enjoy!

Fibre optic internet is a “nice to have” , but not a “ need to have”.

Streaming dropout frustrations are as much an issue with the inherent hardware and app software warts in budget strata streamers, that are designed and built to their modest price-point; rather than blaming the internet access into your house.

Don't want to sound like a Grinch, but I've heard that same "very soon" spiel from AT&T. Took 2 years. Either way, I think fiber optic will have more impact on television picture quality than music streaming.

You are laying the blame for dropouts on budget streamers, but the OP doesn’t currently own a streamer.  In fact he is asking for recommendations on streamers.  Therefore his current internet dropouts are either due to his computer or his actual internet setup.
