what is more popular silver or black face plates

It seemed back in the 80's & 90's most high end components were black. Although some components today still offer black finishes it seems silver is now more popular. What are your thoughts & color preference?

I'm just curious what most of you prefer. So far it seems black.

immatthewj Details Discussions Posts This discussion Message User 2,304 posts 02-05-2025 at 10:07pm Copy Comment URL Report Comment Edit Delete The last two pieces of electronic gear I upgraded were based on the deal I got, and one had a black face plate (the SA 10) and the other had a silver face plate (the SLP 05) so for me it is more about the price of the gear that I want than the color of the face plate or chassis, but if price was not my consideration and I was ordering one I would choose silver.
