I have't yet watched the video, but there are a number of subs employing dual-opposed drivers, if that's all there is to this speaker's design.
Devialet , the best bass of any speaker
Says Jay Iyagi in this review. "better bass than ANY floor standing speaker" and it’s small.
The most interesting speaker I’ve ever heard.
The technology is unique, using two opposing drivers in an isobaric configuration that creates an internal pressure of 400lbs for the Phantom1 model.
I was at an airport open air bar in Newark N.J. A Very large open space with people all around and the sound of the stereo immediately caught my attention. These small speakers were putting out bass like a magic show at a medium level volume. Sounded fantastic!
I also wonder why someone doesn’t use this technology for a stand alone subwoofer.

@bdp24 Much more than that. It's using opposed woofers that are each hermetically sealed. Inside is supposed to be under 400 lbs. of pressure. They are very unique and the sound is impressive. The bass is astounding. |
@gdaddy1: For a woofer system to be dual opposed, the two drivers need to share a common air space (the interior of a single enclosure), not each having it’s own, separate air space. At least that’s my understanding. I'm sure I could be mistaken, but that's the way all the dual opposed subs I've seen are constructed.

Considering its high pressure design, I might be concerned by it's somewhat of an open ended warrantee? Still interesting though.
