Speaker pairing for audiolab 9000 series

I'm looking for a speaker pairing for my system.  The system is bridged (2 amps).  I currently have klipsch heresy IV's,  but just don't love the sound.  I know there are many variables involved, but let's just assume everything is perfect.  I don't need to burn the house down, but like to turn it up a little bit sometimes.  I'm also not a millionaire.  TIA for any insight.

@hardrocker69 you can recoup the funds from selling of the Heresy IV since it still has a fandom (I honestly don't know why)

And get a pair of MoFi Sourcepoint 10ME in Black or Walnut

My problem is the closest possible hifi shops would be 50 miles away, and finding time to go and listen to different speakers is hard to come by.  Brick and mortar shops are falling out of fashion around here (Lincoln, Ne).  I try to make an educated guess.  It kind of blows.

A couple brands are getting good reviews for being a lot of speaker for the dollar.  Mofi and SVS both have  the top model at $4999 or less.  Check 'em out.  Also, if you can wait till April '26,  Take the trip to Axpona. {Chicago]. It's worth the time spent.

I hear ya — it does suck.  IME it’d be worth travelling to a good audio show where you can hear lotsa different speakers.  Failing that, what sound characteristics do you look for in a speaker — warm, neutral, bright?  Imaging/large 3D soundstage?  Deep bass?  Macro dynamics/slam?  Micro dynamic nuance?  Speakers disappear as a sound source?  Size preferences/limitations?  How big is your room and do you have flexibility to place speakers away from the walls?  Anything else?  And what’s your budget and do you prefer new or used?  Answering these questions will allow for some more informed/useful recommendations.

Fifty miles is close. I used to drive 120 miles every couple months. I'd get up early, be there when they open. I've visited places across the country while on business trips.

Locate and call in advance making an appointment for when you will be in. tell them the kind of electronics you have and anything you can tell them about your preferences. Then they can be ready for you.
