From Charlie Randall:

"As we approach the one-year anniversary of Bose’s acquisition, I have made the decision together with the Bose team to step down as President of McIntosh in November."

Mcintosh has not been the same for well over 10 years

Profits over quality , inside  besides the nice meters

Compared to say a gryphon diablo night and day

Difference in parts quality even their best model

Average quality throughout  sadly  my brother owned both

Remove the cover  , it's too bad. It's still quality it just has slipped

A few notches.

We're now a western society of instant gratification and mediocrity.  Large corporte boardrooms and shareholders drive direction for short term profits, damn quality and long term growth.  Who really pays the price are employees and customers with poor quality and longevity.  Acquisitions almost always involve restructuring and layoff.  Short term goals and cost cutting measured in quarters and, at best, 5 years plans to satisfy those board members and shareholders.  That short term thinking,  to "maximize" profits, will rarely sustain long term growth.  "Maximize", that's corporate speak for, plain and simple, greed.

will never purchase a new whatever again.

I have been a Mac loyalist for nearly 50 years. (See my virtual system). The gear shown was purchased in 2009. It's been flawless and I have loved every minute of time spent listening to it. 10 days ago I tried to contact tech support via the website contact page. I was looking for advice on how to best connect my MX122 AV processor with an MHA200 headphone amp that I had just ordered. (More on that in a separate post). No response at all. A complete black hole. Bummer.
