Do you have a speaker that’s not a big name maker but punches above its weight? Why?

I have a Gato Fm6. My reference for last 10 years. Sounds amazing. Designer used to work for Gamut. Amazing clarity. Great open midrange and vapor like treble that’s detailed , transparent and vapor like!  What are others?

Usher and Omega were mentioned earlier. I own both brands. As to why?...

The Ushers.....I’ve always thought they presented sound in a way that connects to me. I’ve owned 3 models.

I just got a pair of Omega CAMs to go with my Decware  SE84UFO. I like the coherence of the single driver and the fact there’s no crossover. They are very open, natural.... magic with the right music.

Fritz speakers punch WAY above their weight as do Ascend Acoustics.

Anyone in the Denver/Front Range area that wants to get in touch, please do. If you live close and I'm comfortable with it, I'd even loan you either pair for a while so you can try them out. Seriously.

@slaw agree on Omegas. I have the Junior 8 XRS. Love them. My favourite amongst all speakers. They also make amps now- I think I got their first 220v earlier this year. SE, Class A, 2.5w. Sublime. Powers even my not that efficient O Babys with ease.

Can I mention my Curt Campbell and Jim Holtz designed, DIY, "Bordeaux"?

They punch at 5X over their weight category.

Aurum Cantus Aero Stricture tweeters.

Accuton 6" ceramic  mids.

2 Dayton woofers.

Cost me about $3500 total per pair, and some weekends of labor.

The end results are speakers that sound as good as commercially available speakers that would cost $15K, with no exaggeration.
