Review of Mad Scientist 'First Nano Power Cable'

Its not expensive, and I still had the stock Raven Audio power cord in use, so I decided to try an upgrade power cable. Since I wobble between the snake oil theory and curiosity it was hard to cough up the green on a doubtful purchase but yesterday my package arrived. First impressions aside I'll give it a couple more hours before I share my definitive review. The single meter is like $250 while mine was $450 for two meter. So not terrible but not the cheapest either. I'll report back ASAP. Hold on....

Always been interested in Mad Scientist and heard nothing but good things so look forward to your thoughts.  Do they offer a trial period?

Thanks  for sharing. Make sure you have at least a hundred hours on your power cord before making a definitive conclusion. Yes, power cords can make a huge difference, as can burn in time.

Reviewing Mad Scientist (New Zealand) First Nano Power Cord is so far a moving target. If burn in means anything, it means the item will be changing its flavor in the early days of its life within your system. I have found this to be very true with this AC cable. And all it does is convey electrical power to my Raven Audio integrated amp! First impressions...immediately clearer with more detail. At first it seemed "lighter" which I thought was a lack of mid bass or fullness. But now (after 20 hours) this has filled in with a whole-ness which sounds warmer without loosing any of this amazing upgrade in detail. Remember I was using the stock Raven cord (which is no cheapie, same thickness as a small garden hose lol) Now voices have taken on an additional clarity that is captivating. I'm feeling the timing of the music is more "laid back" in that the timing cues seem different/better somehow. Gone is the sense that details are hidden in a vague smear. Looking forward to further surprises as break in unfolds more improvements. How can an AC cord change so improve the quality of reproduced music? very bizarre

Plug it into a tv or a computer for a couple of weeks before you plug it into your system.  That way there’s less chance of your mind playing tricks on you.

All the best.
