congratulations @OP. After you get settled with that, after the streamer acquisition, in time, look up this at-home remastering software, and read some of the testimonials - it was developed for the Dave by Dave users, and is a component level upgrade for it and other compatible DAC's, like my T+A DAC200. One needs to get over the hurdle of getting a good computer and plenty of storage for files, but it is worth it. My remastered redbook CD's sound better than 24/192 Qobuz files. |
@ghdprentice @mclinnguy Thank you, sir. |
Is Lumin U2 mini any good? @ghdprentice do you think Lumin U2 mini is better than AK SP3000? PS this streamer will be using in the car and so far only U2 mini that can convert to 12V DC input. Regards, Tony |
I have to make an educated guess. Since I own a AK SP2000. The SP3000 would likely sound better and it gives you much better options for using while traveling, on vacation... etc. That is why I bought mine. Although, high noise environments like automobiles and planes are very different environments. I find that high end sound gets very compromised because the treble gets drowned out. When I travel, I use Bose Quiet Comfort headphones and my iPhone. While not high fidelity... it is really enjoyable to listen to . The sound is a little cartoonish, but it sounds balanced, punchy and musical. If you take "high fi" into high noise, it sounds flat. Also, compromising by splitting uses of a component generally severely degrades the performance of all uses. I am not a fan.
