I need some CD player suggestions please

I am currently using a many year old Harmon Kardon 5-CD player that has served me well but it is finally time to upgrade. The rest of my system is a Pioneer Elite receiver that basically serves as a Preamp for the system. Then I have a Citation 7.1 power amp for 2 channels and then 2 more channels or amplification are handled by a Legacy/Cota 2 channel amp. The only amplification being done by the receiver's 140 WPC is the center. Speakers are Legacy Focus front and Silver Cinema II Center Channel.

I already have a Samsung 3600 Blueray so the new player only needs to handle CDs for 2 channel use. I have played around a bit listening to CDs in the Kardon and the Samsung CD/DVD player and I am unable to discern any difference at all.

So either they are both 'bad" enough not to show any difference or my ears are not good enough ( at nearly 50) to hear the difference.

I would really like to find a 5 cd changer if possible because I like the fact that it allows me to cue up a few hours of music, but I am willing to get a single if it really makes a big difference.

For budget I would like to buy used under $600. Is there any hope for me to find something decent for this price?

Summitav - You're correct that it's a bit of a gamble to purchase from an unauthorized dealer. I was a little concerned when I had the issue with the subwoofer but was happy with the service that I received. One of the options was for them to repair the subwoofer and I wouldn't have been very happy with that solution. Sending the unit back did require a little shipping out of pocket, but you win some and you lose some. I was able to get the subwoofer at a price that I was willing to gamble a bit on, I wouldn't have made the same choice for my speakers or receiver that I purchased at a local shop.

While it may sound like I'm arguing with you, I'm actually glad that you're providing a differnt view so the OP can make a purchase with a full understanding of the risks.
Here is a great CD player for little $$$. The Onkyo DX-7555's build quality is very good and as the phrase suggests, "a giant killer".

On CD players like the Marantz that has IPOD support, does anyone know if that means I can listen to Sirius radio off the Ipod touch? Or does it only allow me to listen to the music on the Ipod?

I have a Pioneer Elite receiver that has an Ipod Dock and it only allows me to see the music files not the other things like podcasts or other audio/streaming functions of the Ipod.
I just went to one of the links American Theater above for the NAD CD player as they also have the Marantz and was shocked to see they try to add over $70 shipping for the unit

That sure makes up for some of the big discount they are claiming to offer.
Edonsmith,

Here is a better offer on the NAD. Higher price but with free shipping. Remember, in these times, most everything is negotiable.

Great offer on a Marantz universal.
