Best sounding phono preamp under $600

I am presently using a Jolida JD-9 with a Pro-ject RM-5 turntable and Ortofon X5-MC cartridge and am looking for opinions on solid state phono preamps that cost $600 or less. The rest of the system consists of the Qinpu integrated amp and Buggtussel Somu floorstanding speakers. Would appreciate any advice on the subject. Thanks, Bob

Musical Surroundings Phenomena for $600, Dynavector P75 for $600 and Grado PH-1 for $500 should be on your short list. Taste will be the determining factor.
Another thread about phono preamps and no mention of a used Plinius Jarrah! Am I the only one on Audiogon who has one? I think it works very nicely with my Merrill / Scillia upgraded AR ES-1 and Denon 103R.
Hagerman/Hagtech phono stages are awesome. Otherwise the Dynavector P75 used is a great deal.
Wow that sure gives me a lot of potential choices; has anyone had any experience with the Pro-ject Phono Box SE, Creek OBH 15 or the Monolithic PS2 ? For another $100 would the Bluenote Phono 1 be worth considering ?
