Whats the best Cartridge for a bright Pro-ject 9 ?

I just got a Pro-ject 9 here on Audiogon about 3 weeks ago. I'm having trouble matching a cartridge with it. It sounds high pitched and very analytical with a Sumiko Blue Point on it. The Blue Point sounded great on my Nad 533 but sounds wrong on the Pro-ject 9. The bass sounds bloated and the highs have a hiss and there is hardly any mid range. The turntable is in great condition. Someone recommended the Ruby CL by Sound Smith but I fear it won't warm up the sound. The previous owner recommended a Grado. Any more recommendations?

I have a Benz Micro Ace med. on my Project RM5. It sounds anything but bright. Mids are very nicely defined and the bass is tight and tuneful,no bloat. Now your project 9 is a better TT then mine so the Benz should put a smile on your face.
I finally got a Dynavector DV 20x. It has great detail and great range and a nice sound stage. It covers the whole sound spectrum from the bass to the highs. But there is still a lack of warmth. Any Suggestions
Keep the 20X and try a warmer sounding phono stage. Perhaps a tubed unit. One that allows the cartridge to be loaded a bit. If you're after a "warm" sounding system you may have to reconsider the whole chain and not rely on the cartridge to get what you want. The 20Xx is just telling you what's in the groove. The rest of the signal path gets to shape that information to produce the final sound. (You don't specify what you're running so I'm just throwing out suggestions.)

Zeal, try lowering the back of the arm as dynavectors correct vta is a touch low in the back.
