Tape Project Tapes

Does anyone here have a subscription to the TP tapes? If so tell me what you have and how you like it.

I'm hoping Bill Evans if the one that is waiting for me when I get home.

BTW - I did a pick six from the first series, even though 3 of the selections I was not familiar with. The second series really didn't capture my attention as much (save the Jimmy Smith tape). Anyone have opinions on either of the series?

Oh, do people really think that highly of Jacqui Naylor or is she just the latest fad in female vocalists ala Patricia Barber and Diana Krall?
I saw Jacqui three months ago at the BN/NYC. The lady can sing and has a unique voice (my girlfriend who's trained opera singer really dug her singing too)! And the better your tape front end, the better she sounds.
Oh and you should hear Jacqui does her "acoustic smash" singing Blossom Dearies Surrey with the Fringe on Top to the tune of George Benson's Breezin'. I think this song is on her CD-not on the tape; but the tape also has two of Jacqui's other notable acoustic smashes.
I want to make a correction to a prior post. The Arnold Overtures arrived today. It was the David Oistrakh/London Symphony Orchestra: Horenstein-Hindemith that I may have gotten the last copy of. Still waiting for Bill Evans, Mose Allison, and Exotic Dances.
@clio: Yes the TP had a limited license to sell the two Decca releases :(

You are in for a real treat with the Bruch/Hindemith--though know some friends will prefer the Heifitz/Bruch to the Oistrakh/Bruch! The best of Wilkinson at Kingsway.
