Debut III or MMF-5

Looking for my first turntable. Which of the above is better and why? The Pro-Ject would be new w/ warranty whereas the MMF-5 would be used.

If it were my choice I would opt for the MMF-5. It is a substaintially upgraded design compared to the debut III. It has a split plinth to help reduce vibration, feet whch can be adjusted to level and comes with a better cartridge than the debut. Try to find a used one with the original packaging to minimize risk during shipping. Good luck.
Hey Bill.

Both are excellent turntables. I have a Pro-Ject Debut III for sale right now on another site. If interested, let me know. With that said, both the Pro-Ject and Music Hall turntables are manufactured at the same plant and represent excellent quality and value for the money spent. The only difference that I've heard people speak of is the esthetics associated with each model.
Thanks guys. I always wanted a Rega but the RP1 seems to have a lot of issues from what I've read and my brother's going through a bunch of trouble trying to find someone to repair his P2 tonearm.

Wescoman, If you want to shoot me an email on the one you're selling that'd be great. What's your reason for selling?
