What is the best vintage TT for new audiophile?

After many years of ignoring my vinyl, I have decided to wade back into the audiophile pool. I am looking at the Thorens TD-160 s well as the TD-126 MK III but have also seen a Luxman PD121 and PD272. I'm only doing this once, maybe there is something better out there??? If not, what should I pay for the units above?? Help!
Many thx.

I have heard alot of good thngs about the Technics SL1200's modified by KAB or Origin Live. You can pick up a TT cheap, and upgrade it until you your heart's content.
I like Buconero's option. The Denon tables in those days were *very* well-built, look terrific, and last almost forever. A DP47 with a 103 cart. would be a terrific setup to have...

Skvintage, what's your budget? I had a Technics SL1200 in the late '70's, it was great for it's time, but I moved on.

I'd suggest adding Regas to your list, P3 probably, of whatever vintage. Or P25 if affordable enough.
There are so many. Thorens, Technics, Denon mentioned by other posters are all good. I will also add Linn LP12 and Kenwood KD-500 or KD-550 (with arm).
