Mapeshade cable lifts or any cable lifts?

Do the cable lifts under speaker wire actually help improve the sound? My cables are wide ribbon Verbatim Cables. Thanks...Edward

The Mapleshade cable lifts are nothing more than wooden dowels and a wooden napkin ring. You can buy this stuff at most any craft store for next to nothing.
