What's your profession? Age?

Just thought after the "how much is your system worth" post that it would be nice to see what all these people do to get $80K systems, and perhaps how long it takes. I'm a 29-year old economist for the gov., just completeed my Ph.D. last month, and my system is at about $10K. Just a pup hoping to keep upgrading...

At 58, I am a retired high school chemistry and biology teacher. Now I can sit back and relax and listen to 12Hz organ music at 100dB.
I just turned 40 this month. I'm a plant manager for a large manufacturing company and I just discovered Audiogon about a year ago. My 2 channel system retails for $11k, but Audiogon made it possible for about $7k.
I'm a 52 year-old retired E.O.T. (Electric Overhead Traveling) crane mechanic-technician. Performed all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, cable, structural, rail, and walking-surface repairs on same. Certified trainer-operator for aerial platforms and mobile(ground-based) cranes for a large international manufacturing company. I was called the Stair-master. Over 20k in system.
I'm 50 yrs. old and have been involved in textile research for thirty yrs. I've worked on everything from carbon fiber insulation for satellites to panty hose and from fly fishing line to bullet proof vests. My 2 ch. retails for 21K, but paid about 14K (only cdp and BPT conditioner were bought new) thanks to AgoN!
