I voted in this thread several years ago, but I'll add another favorite of mine, this time in the folk genre. "Today" by the New Christy Minstrels, from 1964.
Al, That's a beautiful song, and I had never heard it before. Thanks. Coincidentally, earlier in this thread, I chose "Today" by Jefferson Airplane as one of the most beautiful love songs I know. I don't know if you are familiar with it.

I've actually didn't pay attention to the OP's request for LOVE song(perhaps due to the assumption that best songs are about LOVE), but nevertheless, I get stalled when hear Sade's Haunt Me.
