CDPs: Electrocompaniet vs. Meridian

I own the EMC 1 and am really pleased with it. It is a good transport for recording and the top loading feature makes it easy and faster than waiting for a drawer and more mechanical moving parts. The Meridian is owned by a friend of mine and it is very good also - two great choices - no bad decisions either way. Good luck and happy listening.

I owned both at one time, as you've concluded they are both very nice. I preferred the EMC-1 in my system, at that time, with my taste in music....Jazz, Blues, Classical. Try to hear them both in your system if possible.
I upgraded to the 47labs transport/dac a year ago and have never been happier with my digital front end.
