Looking for anyone with experience using their Sony SCD-1 or SCD-777ES as a transport. Have any of you upgraded to a dedicated transport that you felt bettered the Sony? Which one and why.
I used to use my Sony 777 as a transport with a Dodson DAC. The unit enjoys a reputation as an excellent transport, but I always felt my earlier Levinson No. 39 CDP bettered it handily.
Thanks I have been to Russ P's home and heard his system, fantastic, but the mod that I heard at the time used the AL DAC and bypassed the Sonys digi output altogether.
