For All You CCR Fans

If you haven't checked it out already, you owe it to yourself to give a listen to the new 180g reissues of classic Creedence Clearwater Revival albums recently released by Acoustic Sounds. In the immortal words of the boys themselves -

"Good Golly Miss Molly!"

Highly recommended. :)

Haven't tried the 180g yet, but have an original copy of Cosmo's Factory. Recording quality is very good. "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" is a must-have classic song.
By chance, I was listening to CCR last evening and "Favorite Son" came up in the rotation. It put a whole new spin on the post 9-11 flag waving. All night the thought "God, I hope I don't have to go through that again." kept running through my head.

Just the reaction of a VN vet (two trips, Calvary and Rangers) who thought the protesters were right befor he went, and knew they were right when he got back.

Question authority.

Best regards, Dave.
I totally disagree with the above asessment regarding the new 180 g releases. From the first song on "Revival" I felt something was wrong. I have not listened to my old copies in a while but I know a poor mix/production when I hear one. Wow, what a disapointment!!! Just to prove it to myself, I waited 2 weeks and listened again and compared it to two old pressings. My flimsy blue labeled Fantasy copy smokes the new release. And baby I mean smokes!
I am seriously thinking about returning the rest or unopened titles or holding on to them for later resale.
Anyone else compare the new to old releases?

Gerardff,

Thank you for taking the time to respond. In deference to your claims, I decided to try to duplicate your results by comparing my "originals" to the new 180 gram reissues. I could not. IMHO, the 180 gram reissues were superior to the originals. I haven't compared Cosmo's Factory to the Mofi version, but I intend to soon.

I wonder if you might have gotten a defective lp. Either way, as much as these lps cost, I think you are justified in taking it up with Acoustic Sounds.

Best wishes
