Do amplifiers deteriorate if not used?

Do amplifier internal parts (capacitors etc) deteriorate over time if they aren't being used, for example if an amplifier is in storage? Thanks.

Every 3 months might be better but really it's just a hassle. Maybe somebody else knows the best compromise.
