Opinions on Luxman SQ-88 integrated amplifier

There's an article on the Luxman in the December issue of Absolute Sound. They like it, but then again they like everything they review.

I recently had a 25 watt class A Luxman integrated on loan for a while. It was really nice. Very dynamic, super clean and natural. Plenty of power and features and a great phono stage.

No idea about the tube unit you are asking about but Mastersound is real nice!

What particular Mastersound do you mean (Due Venti/Trenta, Compact 300B)?

heard on my last trip to japan. badged luxman, and built in china. its ok, but a rogue cronus is way better.

Wrong. It was made by a electronics company called Aimor, as with many of their products. Another company commissioned to make Luxman products is Goto. Both are Japanese.
