MacCormack DNA225 vs Quad 909

I use to be a Quad dealer way before the days of the 909. If your speakers have an impedance curve that goes low I would go with the MacCormack as Quads did not especially like low impedance loads. I would lean toward the Mac myself but it would depend on the rest of your system and personal taste.

The 909 is not a stellar performer,I much preferred the earlier 606.My opinion on my equipment,others may disagree.

I'm using passive tube buffer pre with steps volume, MFidelity A5 cdp and Zu Druids MK4 speakers. the passive with steps helps for high sensitivity speakers.
