Preamp Deal of the Century

If anyone is looking for a true "World Class" preamp at a very fair price..heed my advice. I just recieved a Supratek Syrah preamp that was hand built by Mick Maloney in Western Australia, and it is absolutely beautiful! This preamp is the best deal you will ever find. I would put it up against any preamp out there for both looks and sound. Price? $2500 for the Syrah (includes Killer Phono stage). Not into phono? Try the Chardonney line stage for $2100. Don't get me wrong, I am not associated with this company. I am just a very happy owner! This preamp is VERY dynamic, yet liquid. It conveys the sound of music better than any other preamp that I have ever heard! You can check out the Supratek website at www. cantech.net.au

I hope so, I've got about 20 Tung Sol 5881, and 20 more different brands. I know Cello says that they CAN NOT be beaten. If they are that good, I'm going to get 4 more for my Audio Note.

I am continually amazed that where audio is concerned, budgets just go all to hell!
Jphii. hehehehe.....Congrats on finding a pair of the 350b's, a good price to boot. Regarding budgets for audio.... I hear you. Not to worry though, believe me.... investing in WE 350b's will make many traditional investments like real estate, stock market, classic cars, wines etc etc, look silly in very short order. Furthermore, your tungsol 5881's are a simple sell as they are always in demand, the guitar guys love them [for good reason]. There are a whole lot more guitar amps out there than audiophile tube amps. Oh yeah.... Cello words are very true here. Enjoy!
Remote control is now noise free. I asked Mick about the noise cause by remote and Tape Loop and here is his reply

"I've changed the remote operation so that it is now noise free. The noise only happened when the remote was being used for adjusting sound- there's no sonic degradation at all. The tape loop is now an option. There
seems to be more requirement now for HT bypass than tape loops, but I can still put it on, although you lose 2 sets of inputs. With the tape loop you have 3 inputs (phono,CD,FM) tape record and play, the HT input and 2 sets of outputs.Take out the tapeloop and you have 5 inputs. OR you can have any combination using 8 sets of RCA sockets- you choose."
Longho68,

Thanks for the info on the remote volume. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Tung Sol 12B4A tubes?
