Speakers for Electronic Music?

Here's what I'm looking for:

1) Budget = ~$2k
2) Electronic music, specifically ambient (50%), IDM (25%), psychill (25%)
3) Speaker type = preferably a pair of loudspeakers

If you care to opine about a good amp to go with it (budget = ~$1k), please do. Most of the music will be coming in from a PC, so an amp with a nice DAC would be a plus.

A pair if Def Tec's with a built in sub would probably be a good choice. It will keep the cost of a new amp down, as well.
I have a pair of classic 1978 LaScalas I would give you a great deal on (seriously) get a sub a class D amp and you've got your own disco.
If you don't know about the original Klipsch LaScala they are very sensitive with I think 93Db/W/M and sound louder than that.
OHm Walsh 1000s + Wyred4Sound or similar CLass D amp. ABility to go loud and clear yet remain controlled and articulate can't be beat.

Caveat is larger rooms might benefit from a larger model than 1000's, which would exceed the budget, at least new.

Original La Scala sensitivity is 104dB @ 1watt/1meter.
No doubt they are capable of high dynamic range and volume.
Since the majority of modern era electronic is well recorded...a neutral, detail based speaker with an exceptional, fast, transparent tweeter would be my choice...dynaudio, revel, b & w, etc....
